Read an interesting article in my local paper – the subject – this woman was appalled that her son’s teacher had a tattoo on display. She rants about how she called the principal of the school, the teachers union, and when she didn’t receive satisfaction going was writing to the paper to bring attention to this situation that was getting her panties in a bunch. Even the principal said it wasn’t his job to police the teachers tattoos. Good for him! Every avenue she tried pretty much told her to fuck off including her hubby who told her to “move on”. But she wrote to the paper. I am happy to report that even there she didn’t not receive the support she was looking for. And to boot, they brought out the fact that her son and his friend that were discussing the tattoo which has now been blown up by the Mom into a big issue. What kind of relationship will this kid feel with his Mom if he can’t even bring up an innocent subject like his techer’s tattoo without his Mom having a hissy fit? It’s nice to see that tattoos do not “scare” most people and that even our educational system is not stereotyping teachers and individuals that are sporting some ink.

The poor kid must be so ashamed of his mother being a raving lunitic.
I’m a first grade teacher. I have my septum pierced and am well inked. People need to pull it together. I have absolutely walked into my school without remembering the “nose tuck” and there have been times when my ink has been spotted, but to me, it is only teaching our children awareness, tolerance, expression, and choice. Scary, isn’t it?
