Rob Doubtfire learned tattooing the hard way. Growing home in various institutions and boys homes, Rob started tattooing friends and roommates back when he was only 12 years old. Unfortunately, Rob progressed to a length stay in jail. He was determined to turn his life around when he got out and got a job after being freed, working a hard ass job in a wool mill working 12 hour shifts. His break came in when someone from his past offered him a job doing graphic work. When the graphic work started winding down, this same friend suggested looking for a tattoo shop and helped Rob in this big step. His work and styles are varied – his color and black and gray both strong styles for him. He says going to shows and conventions has been his biggest source for learning how to improve his tattooing and for trying different techniques and designs. Being self taught and while working at home for years, Rob felt he didn’t have anyone to learn from.
