Stallone – Portrait by Mike Devries

Mike DeVries is listed as one of the artists I follow on http://best-tattoo-sites.com and I found this pic of him and Stallone who sought him out to do a portrait of his wife.  Mike Devries is fairly new to the tattoo industry, only starting his apprenticeship in 2003.  But Mike took to it naturally.  He says he loved being tattooed and was usually getting ink on the average of twice a week for years.  During his session he paid close attention to the process involved and when he decided to start an apprenticeship, the fundamentals seemed to come naturally for him.  Considering the somewhat short time he’s been an artist and the quality of his work, I’d have to agree.Mike is one of my favorites – young guy. Can’t wait to see how he’ll improve over the years – if it’s possible!
