I found this great example of what I consider a “gross tattoo”. It is the work of famous tattoo artist Joe Capobianco who does outstanding tattoo work. My emphasis is the subject choice. Recently we’ve seen an interest in body organs being a choice for tattoo art. A tattoo of the actual heart – arteries and veins galore – instead of the whimsical version of a heart. This particular tattoo took gross a step further. We have the glowing green skin, bloody t-shirt and open stomach cavity with guts protruding out. To each it’s own – and beauty is in the eye of the tattoo fan…
