You’re never too old to get your first tattoo.  The Harple family is another example of how tattoos are becoming more widely accepted and in some cases carry a sentimental meaning that is shared by more than one person.

The Harple family is scattered across the united states but still have a strong family bond.  It began when one of the grown daughters in the family suggested that she and her three sisters get matching anchor tattoos on different parts of their bodies.  The family has a connection to sailing and she felt it would be a great way to represent one of the bonds that keeps their family tight.

Their parents met through sailing and their grandparents enjoyed sailing.  Two of their other relatives were classified as world-class sailors.  An anchor seem to be a good choice to give a general representation.

When Grandma Phyllis noticed the body art on one of her daughter’s she decided it was the right thing for her also.  So grandma got herself a matching anchor tattoo!
