Well, I’m not into watching sports on TV but my husband loves it – so last night a baseball game was on and I glanced up from my reading to see fans holding up signs that were plastered with love for “Tatman” – almost sounds like a Superhero. This quickly got my attention.
He was one of the most popular players in last night’s game – he hit a grand slam against the Milwaukee Brewers – and that’s why people were holding up these signs for Ryan Roberts of the Arizona Diamondbacks. His nickname stems from 
his many tattoos. The man is covered with tattoos from his neck to his toes.
I think high profile, successful sports figures like this are the type of public figures that will help change the negative attitude some people have about tattoo work. The 31 year old Roberts says he gets tattoos to show what inspires him. A lot of his fans are intrigued with his body art and the better he performs in the playoffs, the more inquiries he’ll receive — about his body art and about his performance on the field.

Just when you think that tattoos are gaining acceptance, a story depicting the opposite shows up in the news. Tattoos profiling and stereotyping is rearing it’s ugly head in Japan.
After a recent musical event in Kobe, a city located in Japan, the local government is considering banning anyone with tattoos from enjoying their beach. This brainstorm is being debated after a few college students were arrested for marijuana possession after a musical concert was held. It’s not defined in their article whether these particular students had tattoos but this local body of government is intent on cutting back on the number of young people enjoying the beach. continue reading

Washington law enforcement were amazed and in awe of the contraband snuck in by Gavin Stanger, 24, of East Wenatchee Washington. He was brought in for booking for a minor misdemeanor charge. He had previously arranged to serve 3 days for the charge. During the pat down given to Stanger, no contraband was detected. Stranger was later strip searched and still nothing was found.
Shortly after the strip search, one of the jail guards found a plastic bag and some duct tape floating in the Stanger’s toilet. Once the guards began questioning him, he admitted to smuggling in contraband. All sorts of stuff. Amazing amounts of sharp things stuck in the rectum. The list – a lighter, rolling papers, roughly an ounce of tobacco, eight tattoo needles and a bottle of tattoo ink, 1 inch long pipe and a small baggie of pot. continue reading

In doing research for my Tattoo Information Site – on Gang Related Tattoos - I found a site that has a database of over 700 Chicago tattoo pictures with current plans to expand to gangs all over the country. For some reason, when our world is completely remote from the world of bikers, gangs and prisons, we still have a fascination and curiosity regarding the topic. We get a glimpse through tv shows and movies but reading about this once mysterious world is now easy with the internet. continue reading

This is an entertaining piece of Photoshop work and if you click on the title of this post you can vote for the creator, Sassydeb, who has put it out for comments on Freaking News. I don’t know what is funnier, Paris covered with tattoos or the extra meat on her thighs. I like this one better than the one of Hillary Clinton with tattoos – but that one is not bad either. And it seems more “out there”.
