OK – I admit this is unrelated to tattoos but I just discovered this kid who has been competing on one of these live entertainment shows – X-Factor. I don’t watch the show (why I’m discovering this kid now) – This girl is 13 years old – in 8th grade – and sings like an old blues soul – This is one of her auditions as well as one of her performing pieces – Rachel Crow – She blew me away and she’s cute as all hell-
I haven’t done a post about a specific artist in awhile. I’ve been concentrating that type of research for other projects – but in case you haven’t heard of this guy – I’d like to draw your attention – because the guy will knock your socks off. He is so exceptional; I want to share this with anyone that wasn’t aware of his art work. Roman Abrego is one of those artists that was born to tattoo. It would have been a sin if this man had never been drawn to tattooing.
Although his career started out rocky – as in spending time in jail – this opportunity gave Roman an opportunity to shift his focus on his art. He worked construction for a bit but eventually tried his hand at tattooing. He now owns his own tattoo shop – Artistic Element in Yucaipa, California. With the availability of quality tattoo magazines, we are able to enjoy the talents of artists from around the world. With this accessibility to tattoo work through reality shows, conventions, and publications it is difficult to come up with a technique or look that is unique. With tattoo art becoming more appreciated and easy to attain, we’ve become a bit jaded.
I just want to draw some attention to a tattoo shop by the name of Buena Vista Tattoo Club. I don’t have much information about the artists except for their names but it’s all about the art anyway. The two artists that work out of the shop are Simone Pfaff and Volko Merschky. They are located in Germany – at least that is what I determined from their site – after researching the town. Worth a visit to check out their gallery.
One of the best parts of running a site that is open to suggestions, is the interesting and talented people that contact me. I get email from people all over the world.
