Building sandcastles has come a long way and competitions are held all over the world with professinal companies participating.  Friends of mine visit an annual competition in Maine every year and rave about the beautiful and creative sculptures built on the beach. Polymer clay is a good medium for sculpting artists – it’s available to people that want to experiment in sculpting but don’t have a lot of cash to spend right up front. Some artists use it primarily for jewelry design and other’s for this type of 3D sculpture.
