Barbie with Serious Tattoos

We’ve seen Barbie go through quite a few transitions and lifestyle changes over the years. I barely recognize the doll I played with decades ago. Mattel made a smart move when they decided it was time that Barbie visited the local tattoo parlor.

This Barbie is different from the body art version that came out with removable tattoo stickers a few years ago. That Barbie was called Totally Stylin’ Tattoos Barbie. This new, more punk version of Barbie, has permanent tattoos and is called “tokidoki Barbie”. It was designed by Simone Legno and has a sleeve on her left arm and body art on her chest. Mattel describes this new Barbie as a “funky fashionista,” She comes with pink hair and a skull on her cute sweater to go along with her tattoos. She also wears a little hot pink mini-skirt with leopard leggings.

I don’t see anything about this doll that could negatively influence kids but I guess some people have to look for potential “evil” in everything.

The doll will not be sold and marketed in toy stores for little kids. It’ll be marketed for the Barbie Collector website that Mattel has. The reason is – they fear that conservative parents will have a shit fit if their kids found this doll cute and fun to play with. Heaven forbid! Little Mary might run out and get a skull tattoo on her chest when she’s eighteen because she played with Funky Barbie when she was six. Oh, my!

Too Fast Online

I’m going to give a shout out to an ex business associate and all around nice person who runs one of the best online tattoo clothing stores to be found on the internet. Too Fast Clothing is owned and operated by Maureen a former resident of Albuquerque. She has since moved her family and company to the Jersey Shore. The site and the product offerings keep getting better and better. So, even though I haven’t talked to her in awhile, I’m guessing things are going well. She sells baby clothes (like the onesie pictured here), items for the house but mostly tattoo clothes for adults. She’s been in the business for many years and is a good person to do business with. Goth Tattoo Artist Doll

Found a new goth doll blog site – NewAged Dolls. I actually feel this doll maker may have gone a little past goth and into a Stephen King novel. The kicker was it was a commissioned order filled by this talented Canadian artist, Jade Perez, which is adorned with a tattoo on it’s chest as well as a tattoo gun clutched in it’s little doll hand. Jade says “I love horror, blood and scary things.”… The doll was a gift to the buyer’s tattoo artist. She has the blog which is pretty attractive, well put together, and a way to see some of her work which includes some jewelry too – of course the designs are similar to the dolls. Looks like she recently held a contest to win a doll so there’s reason right there to check it out. A Brides Special Day

I give a lot of credit to the brides that decide to break tradition and have their special day their way. Letting their body art be on display for all the friends and relatives that show up to celebrate their special day. It’s about time. Why not wear and look the way you feel most comfortable? Wear those sneakers if that’s your desire. Tattooed Bride has some nice ideas if you’re planning your own wedding and your desire is to be a little over the top. It goes beyond just showing some tattoos off. The grooms, the wedding party – the pictures tell a tale of weddings from shots of the wedding party getting ready to some nice professional shots featuring the couples. These weddings can be fun for the guests too. Remember the days when you got invited to a wedding and your first thought is – dull, predictable and boring. You knew the routine by heart. The biggest surprise would be the color of the bridesmaid’s gowns. Now going to a wedding can mean anything goes. Unpredictable and unconventional is the name of the game.

Amy’s New Breasts

Although I’ve lost interest in her music – since I haven’t heard much for the last couple years – yeah that may be it, Amy Winehouse still manages to show up in the news here and there and she’s like a car wreck. You just can’t help but look and pay attention. Maybe she’s turned the corner and 2010 will prove to be a comeback year for her. She recently emerged from a stint in rehab and also finished up with her divorce of the lowlife she was with. She’s one of my favorite tattooed celebrities, although I’m not a fan of her violent episodes. It’s possible her crazy addictive filled life can be blamed for some of the episodes but it makes you wonder about how much of the altercations she finds herself in are truly just part of her nature. But, I digress from the new boob job she recently showed off. Hell, even her father is quoted as saying “Her boobs are great”. What a Dad, huh?

She looks clear eyes in these recent photos so let’s hope for the best. She’s young and full of talent. Let’s hope the rehab sticks.

Nina Kate is a savy young tattoo and fetish model from London that knows how to promote herself and distance herself from the other models trying to make it in this growing field. I mean the girl is only 24 years old and she has a solid web site and recently had an extensive interview in Skin Deep Magazine. Her look varys from shoot to shoot and photograph to photograph to the point that you don’t realize it’s the same model. She said the interest started early in her life when her sister and her would dress up in her Mom’s old clubbing clothes – latex mini skirts and leopard prints – her destiny was established. Her modeling career began when she was 16 and she was soon sending off pictures of herself to various magazines. She started her own clothing company called Jane Doe Latex which specializes in rubber attire and other similar fetish clothing items. Her clothing line offers off the rack and custom pieces.

Cool Maternity Clothes at Mama San

This is the first time I’ve seen a site that sells cool maternity clothes – we tend to forget about the lousy selection available to our pregnant women. I remember that frumpy feeling – the clothes are borderline embarrassing and all you can think about is – some day I can get back to my normal clothes. These days you have great options like the choices available here with cool designs – maybe there’s even a way to utilize the clothes after the fact – visit Mama San and see what they have to offer. I think you’ll see more sites like this in the near future. The craze of cool and trendy hip baby clothes has hit the internet with a fury so the idea of stores with a choice of alternative clothing for pregnant women makes total sense.

Love the gothic dolls. These are so cheap, I actually think I could start a collection! They are classified as action figures on this site. The site is called bleeding edge Many of the collectible series are sold out but some are still available. They each have their personality listed and the prices on these are also unbelievably good – $35.00 or so. Even if you don’t plan on buying any visit. their site Have fun.

Beside having a couple sites selling punk clothing, I also have a dog related site that lists clothes – Information about Dogs and of course my personal favorite style has skulls, etc. on the dog clothes. I just found this site that sells the cutest little dress, unfortunately the picture isn’t on a model , from Hello Kitty -Beverly Hills designer, Little Lily. This adorable dog dress features “Hello Kitty” with a sweetheart eyepatch and red bow. The dress is a contrast of belted safety pins and layers of black lace. Made in the USA of the most gorgeous detailing your pup is will be an instant rock star.
