Flash Your Tattoo

Some weeks it’s hard to find new and fresh topics to blog about – I think of it as Blogger’s block and then there are the weeks where you find a gem like this and you can’t wait to get that post written.  This is one of those types. The talented young team working at Julian Murray Photography and Design from Las Vegas has some offbeat projects.  (Tattoos & Tentacles from Julian Murray on Vimeo.) They work in primarily the music, advertising, and fashion industries. One of the projects they’ve been working on this past year and plan to continue expanding upon is called the Tattoos and Tentacles Series. Check out the video – gives you an idea of the photo shoots. I recently became a member of PETA. I felt I had to do more than yap about animal abuse and how much it upset me. They make some amazing strides in keeping businesses and people accountable for how animals are treated. But the task seems gigantic so any help individuals can offer helps the cause. Recently, PETA has had impressive campaigns to promote the ethical treatment of animals including “Ink No Mink”. Celebrities are stripping out of their clothes and being tastefully photographed with a couple of accessories and in all their tattoo glory. (continue reading…)

I give a lot of credit to the brides that decide to break tradition and have their special day their way.  Letting their body art be on display for all the friends and relatives that show up to celebrate their special day.  It’s about time.  Why not wear and look the way you feel most comfortable?  Wear those sneakers if that’s your desire. Tattooed Bride has some nice ideas if you’re planning your own wedding and your desire is to be a little over the top.  It goes beyond just showing some tattoos off.  (continue reading…)

Photography, special effects, and great software has produced such interesting pieces of work – this tattoo coming to life is a piece of art I would frame and hang on my wall – very clever.Visit the page that holds similar photos and take a look for yourself.

This site has some beautiful photography work – even if you are not a goth fan you can probably apprecaite the eye of the photographer.  This Gothic Photography site that has been around for over five years. It’s  a little confusing to navigate but it looks like if you are an artist in this field you can upload your portfolio and and this is a link to the member’s gallery which is worth a visit – Members Gallery – I don’t know why this flavor of art is so appealing but it just is.

I have a thing for dolls but this wasn’t quite where my searching would end up. This is Alli Jiang – who is the live model and also the digital enhancing for a series of photos where she poses in a doll like manner with “joints” drawn in to give the feeling of a real doll. (continue reading…)
