Happy Mothers Day to everyone. Mom tattoos are a popular choices today as well as being a classic old school design. The dedications to mothers have developed from a simple heart with banner design to many people taking it a bit farther with portraits of their Moms prominently displayed. It’s a nice tribute and show of respect for the Moms of this world – no one can take the place of you Mom.

Doctor Refuses Treatment to Patient because of Tattoos

This story is about a year old but new to me. A pediatrician practicing in a town called Bakersfield, refused to treat a child for an ear infection because he objected to the mom’s tattoos. The doctor believed in a Christian atmosphere for his office and was following his beliefs. This doctor follows these guidelines – no tattoos, piercings, and other such requirements. According to the AMA, this doctor had every right to enforce these beliefs (????) – he says he wants his patients to have a “comfortable atmosphere”. WTF! Refusing to treat a child because he doesn’t like the artwork the Mom is sporting – yeah, that’s so Christian like.

Happy Mother’s Day everyone! – So in honor of the day, I’m writing about the woman that runs, owns, and tattoos at Mom’s Tattoo Parlor located in south Austin. Debi, Mom’s owner, has been tattooing for over twenty years and has been in business at this location for the past five. She does all styles of tattooing. Debi treats her customers like family and really lives up to the Mom image.
