I wrote a post about this artist almost 2 years ago. Since then she’s expanded her gothic selection and her current inventory looks completely new to me – so I just wanted to throw her some traffic for her latest creations. I really think hand crafted goth dolls are not appreciated as they should be. Each one is unique and one of a kind. A collector’s item for people that have an affection for vampires and scary movies.

Internationally known artist, D.L. Marian, creates one of a kind dead dolls, mannequins and other works of art. I like that she offers to add fangs on request. She also offers tours of her studio which would be so interesting. She’s located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. I love a cool site like this.

Paul Booth and the 13th Hour Exhibit

When I think of Halloween and tattoos, the first artist that comes to mind is Paul Booth. His tattoos, his shop, and every aspect of the art of Paul Booth screams Halloween. This year marks the third year that Last Rites Gallery, Booth’s shop, has celebrated it’s 13th Hour Group Exhibit. The exhibit began this weekend and will run until the 21st of November. He brings together artists specializing in the dark, depraved, and gothic style from around the world to exhibit their work. The studio and where you can visit this exhibition is located in New York city. Booth built up a highly respected reputation in the tattoo industry and is now using his fame to help bring these artists together and help establish an appreciation for dark art which gets a bad rap. These talent artists are given a chance to display their work as a serious art form. Gothic art is slowly building up a respectable reputation with the help of artist like Paul Booth. (Last Rites also holds additional exhibits throughout the year.)

Vampire Bites

There’s a new trend currently popular with young teenagers primarily middle school kids which is freaking out their parents. The popularity of the “Twilight” books and movie along with the HBO series “True Blood” has been given the reasons for this new fad. Young teenagers are now actually biting their friends on the neck to make a statement about their friendship or love for that person. They bite hard enough to leave tissue damage and some heavy bruising. Then they are documenting the act with pictures on their Facebook profile. Experts say this is wrong on a few levels. We all know how germ filled our mouths are supposed to be. Human bites can be worse than animal bites and there’s a chance of infection. Experts also say biting can be a form of physical and emotional abuse. I don’t agree that this is the case here. The ones being bitten probably feel they are part of the popular group of kids at their school. Speaking from my own experience with raising my kids, my advice to parents is to just ignore it. If you make a big deal about it, your kids will just do it more. They just won’t be so open about letting the world knows. Put yourself in their shoes – if your parental units told you to cease and desist would you? Or would you just be better at hiding it from them? Goth Tattoo Artist Doll

Found a new goth doll blog site – NewAged Dolls. I actually feel this doll maker may have gone a little past goth and into a Stephen King novel. The kicker was it was a commissioned order filled by this talented Canadian artist, Jade Perez, which is adorned with a tattoo on it’s chest as well as a tattoo gun clutched in it’s little doll hand. Jade says “I love horror, blood and scary things.”… The doll was a gift to the buyer’s tattoo artist. She has the blog which is pretty attractive, well put together, and a way to see some of her work which includes some jewelry too – of course the designs are similar to the dolls. Looks like she recently held a contest to win a doll so there’s reason right there to check it out. More Evil Babies

Well it’s just going to be one of those weeks – found another talented dark doll artist by the name of Kamila Mlynarczyk. Each doll is one of a kind and completely hand made. Her styles are Victorian and antique in style. The dolls are fascinating and so odd. Her sculptures range from mermaids and zombies to conjoined twins. It’s difficult to discern the size of some of her dolls. A lack of detailed description sometimes makes it impossible to tell. In some of the settings you see a human hand so you’re able to judge the size based on comparison and the dolls are surprisingly tiny. They are not for the weak hearted – some have bleeding stumps where limbs have been chopped off. More than just your average goth style dolls.

Evil Goth Dolls

I’m excited – found a brand new goth doll artist that has a unique and wonderful VERY dark style. And the reasons for getting into the craft touched my heart. After rescuing a puppy born with several birth defects, macabre artist D. L. Marian, began making dolls to enable her to work at home with her pup by her side. She creates one of a kind gothic horror dolls and mannequins. Some of her doll categories include ghost dolls, vampire dolls and strange babies. Some of them are borderline disturbing but I guess you can just equate that to flattery to the artist. She even has a payment plan option to make them easier to afford but her prices seem extremely reasonable to start with. This may be an offer I cannot refuse.

Clothing for Immortals

The recent HUGE popularity surge of vampires and all aspects of their world has led to more of an interest in all things vampire. The Twilight popularity has led to a surge in the young teen age group. Kind of a young version of the Anne Rice vampire series. Books, movies, and TV shows – love that True Blood – and we now have clothing and jewelry. They were recently mentioned in a big tattoo magazine – Rebel Ink– and yes, they even have blood vial jewelry. They carry everything you need from head to toe – the shoes, jewelry, fangs, handbags, vampire bite tattoos, and even a cute tee for your little dog.

Hot Tattoo Witch

Hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween festivities. Happy the day after Halloween. Time to dive into the left over candy. SO, speaking of Halloween I did some searching around for some good Witch related tattoos. Less to be found than I had anticipated – but as often happens one type of search turns into a stumble onto a site that makes you even happier.This is a painting by an artist by the name of Scott Clayton a fantasy artist from Aurora, Illinois – and you can see all of his works by clicking here. The title of the piece is Hot Tattoo Witch – perfect, to the point, and the reason I stumbled on it.

Liorcifer Tattoo Artist

Liorcifer – it evokes your curiosity just based on the name of this artist. He was recently listed as one of the top 100 artist by Skin Deep and after viewing his work one his website – Liorcifer.com. He began his tattoo career in his native country of Israel. He did his first apprenticeship there but eventually landed in Queens New York. Then he had the opportunity to do his second apprenticeship under the King of Horror – Paul Booth. Liorcifer’s work is dark and the emphasis is on horror – although I love this Escher piece also. He specializes in black and grey. When you view his portfolio you can see the Paul Booth influence for sure. After finishing his apprenticeship, he worked at Last Rites Tattoo for 6 years.
