This post is short and sweet – I don’t know anything about this artist except he sent me a link to his site. His biography page reads like a job resume and nothing about his personal life. Tattoo Magnetic Dolls

I thought these attractive paper doll designs were worth a mention. It’s titled “The Tattoo Sampler” and it’s made by Temporary I.D. Paper Dolls – this is the magnetic version. So these are much more durable and meant to be played with.

The set is sold with 4 tattoo looks – Japanese style, American, Botanical, and Nautical. It comes with a doll named Bare Betty.

Each theme includes 3 pieces so you are able to mix and match your own designs. They’ll stick to any metal surface. I think it would be a fun XMAS present. They also sell a paper version but why would you settle for that? How long would it last? How fragile to keep them in good shape? Magnetic is the way to go. The artist is Elizabeth Ocean.

So Good It Fooled Me

Recently I’ve had an itch to take some type of sculpting class – learn how to throw some clay – or bake a statue. What’s perked my interest in this art medium recently is the detailed work that some artists are able to achieve. It looks like it would be fun to take a stab at it – make you appreciate their skill and the realism they are able to reach can make you doubt what you are seeing.

Lisa Lichtenfels creates realistic soft sculptures. They range from less than 5 inches to life-sized figures. Her sculptures have been sold to collectors from all over the world.

The sculpture she has on her landing page is so real, I first thought it was the artist and she had a great sense of humor. I thought that even though I KNEW she was an artist that created life like sculptures. I just refused to believe it could be anything but an old lady dressed up for a funny photo shoot. (Yeah, I’m on the gullible side in case you’re wondering) Once venturing further into the site, I realized it was one of her many realistic sculptures. In addition to creating these life like aliens, fairies, humans, and gnomes, she photographs her creations with interesting backdrops and sells the prints.

Goth Tattoo Artist Doll

Found a new goth doll blog site – NewAged Dolls. I actually feel this doll maker may have gone a little past goth and into a Stephen King novel. The kicker was it was a commissioned order filled by this talented Canadian artist, Jade Perez, which is adorned with a tattoo on it’s chest as well as a tattoo gun clutched in it’s little doll hand. Jade says “I love horror, blood and scary things.”… The doll was a gift to the buyer’s tattoo artist. She has the blog which is pretty attractive, well put together, and a way to see some of her work which includes some jewelry too – of course the designs are similar to the dolls. Looks like she recently held a contest to win a doll so there’s reason right there to check it out. She also sells her wares via an etsy store – http://www.etsy.com/shop/newagedolls – wish her the best of luck.

More Evil Babies

Well it’s just going to be one of those weeks – found another talented dark doll artist by the name of Kamila Mlynarczyk. Each doll is one of a kind and completely hand made. Her styles are Victorian and antique in style. The dolls are fascinating and so odd. Her sculptures range from mermaids and zombies to conjoined twins. It’s difficult to discern the size of some of her dolls. A lack of detailed description sometimes makes it impossible to tell. In some of the settings you see a human hand so you’re able to judge the size based on comparison and the dolls are surprisingly tiny. They are not for the weak hearted – some have bleeding stumps where limbs have been chopped off. More than just your average goth style dolls.

One of my favorite artistic areas related to tattoos are hand crafted or decorated dolls. Don’t collect them but if I had the extra cash , I would love to start. Begoth Dolls is one of the more popular sites you’ll find with a great selection of quality gothic dolls many sporting tattoo work. Recently, dolls adorned with tattoos have been working their way into Tattoo conventions with lovers of ink appreciating the talent that goes into capturing small details on a doll’s bodies. These are done a variety of materials – some even being added with embroidery skills. At Enchanted Doll – Porcelain bodies are engraved with a needle while still raw. They are then fired and then china paint is rubbed into the grooves. Accents are added in additional layers.

At Gothic Pictures, you can find quality professional goth photos, gothic paintings, anime, and architecture. There is no explanation on the site as to who does the artwork or any way to contact the owner of the site. It’s possible all of the work is done by one person. I found a link to another site that seems to be an offshoot of this extensive goth site. It focuses strictly on goth dolls- that is at http://dolls.gothicarts.org/ – again, there is a lack of information that is frustrating. No explanation behind the artist or any information for purchasing.

This online store I found has the largest selection of goth dolls I’ve seen yet. The costumes/clothing are great and detailed. You can even buy special doll stands decorated with skulls. They also carry more plush soft dolls and accessories, clothing, tub toys, mirrors – the whole site is quite evolved – newsletters, happenings.

Psychobilly – Living Dead Dolls

Living Dead Dolls are a series of “cute but twisted” dolls. Created by Ed Long and Damien Glonek, the Living Dead Dolls are dolls of children with a goth/horror theme. Originally each doll was made by hand and sold at horror conventions, but they are now mass produced, giving Ed and Damien more time to think up new dolls. The verse on the front of the package reads: One is crude The other rude With a shit load of tattoos. They died to lose. Their joint death certificate reads: Fast and frightening with an eight ball curse To hell they ride In their hot rod hearse.
