I’m going to give a shout out to an ex business associate and all around nice person who runs one of the best online tattoo clothing stores to be found on the internet. Too Fast Clothing is owned and operated by Maureen a former resident of Albuquerque. She has since moved her family and company to the Jersey Shore. The site and the product offerings keep getting better and better. So, even though I haven’t talked to her in awhile, I’m guessing things are going well. She sells baby clothes (like the onesie pictured here), items for the house but mostly tattoo clothes for adults. She’s been in the business for many years and is a good person to do business with. Tee Off With Tattoo Style

First let me say – I’ve never golfed. Had the opportunity on a Disney vacation but there was a dress requirement – polo shirt – just don’t own one of those and I refused to buy “special clothes” to meet the dress requirements. Well, if dressing in routine golfing gear has turned you off in the past, there is now an answer. This online store called Tattoo Golf deals exclusively in cool tattoo golf gear. They have tattoo-inspired designs on everything from shirts to cool accessories for you to wear while you’re whacking your balls. Their tattoo shirt collection includes options for youth sizes and the accessories include items like cool looking shades, cool hoodies, hats, golf gloves, towels, driver covers and putter covers. Many covered with skull designs. They’ve recently received some good press in the PGA magazine along with promotion from celebrity golfers. Visit their site – check them out – pretty unique store.

Devries – Always Working on his Art

I’ve had other posts about Mike Devries and I’ll admit he is one of my favorite well known tattoo artists. I was just beefing up his page on my tattoo artist’s site, and discovered a resource for all the extra projects Devries is involved in. Reflected Art is the name and it only came about last year. The project is actually a partnership between Devries and John Pyles, also known as Terminator John. Terminator John is a passionate tattoo collector and the two of them brought together their different perspectives and their love of body art to offer a nice selection of related items. The items on the site are not just Devrie’s items. They are offering dvds, art books, prints, shirts, and other artistic products from talented individuals from the tattoo industry as well as artists outside of the industry. Devries has managed to take his fame and not only relish in the benefits of being a successful tattoo artist, but he is using his reputation to help other artists and promote the industry in a positive artistic vein. I have a lot of respect for him and his principled life style.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day – should land on a Sunday every year. Give us a chance to spend with your loved one. Valentines Day also reminds us of the ever popular heart tattoo. All styles and shapes can be found with the heart shaped symbol. In the past handful of years, a gruesome and realistic version of the heart has grown in popularity even adorning the female population. I don’t understand the appeal but tastes run in all directions…The majority of the time it is chosen to represent a current and hopefully life long relationship (and if not find a good cover up artist). Other times it is chosen to remind a person of a broken relationship – a broken heart or a knife through the heart. Seems like placing that permanently on your body is a sign of a masochist….Another common reasons is as a memorial to a loved one that’s passed on. Whatever your reason, whatever your choice of designs – the choice of a heart tattoo almost always has a emotional reason behind it.

When you cross creative advertising and the popularity tattoos are experiencing lately, it’s no surprise that there are businesses finding ways to promote their businesses with body art. One of the most recent gimmicks to come to light is a restaurant located in Ohio that is offering a lifetime discount of 25 percent to any patron that has a tattoo of their famous grilled cheese sandwich. The restaurant is Melt Bar and Grilled and is located in a Cleveland suburb. They were smart in the promotion and partnered up with a local tattoo shop which – yup, you guessed it – giving a discount to people that want a grilled cheese sandwich tattoo.
This idea isn’t new – there is a company which teams up big time companies with people willing to get branded with their logo or ad – yes permanent tattoos. The payoff is usually big but not just anyone is accepted into the program. The company is called Tatads and they match up potential tattoo recipients with company’s looking for good matches for their products.

They have a deceiving but catchy web site – www.wasteoftalent.com. They claim they can decorate any leather piece with whatever artwork you submit to them including tattoo designs. They also have sale items and other categories with already engraved leather. I especially liked their dog collar with a nice skeleton burned into the leather.

Tattoo Inspired Fashion Entertainment

Tattoos are infiltrating all flavors of mainstream lifestyles. Clothing designer, Adam Saaks, has crossed tattoo fashionwith fashion, and night club shows. His show consists of beautiful girls wearing Ed Hardy’s clothing which he studies. Then once he’s made his decision, the scissors comes out. Saaks then performs a unique theatrical stage show that is a big hit in some cities. He evaluates the curves and body type of the individual and then takes his scissors and starts cutting away. He likes to refer to is wearable art. Saaks, a former stylist to the stars, has created custom shirt art for clients such as Alicia Keys, Jessica Simpson, and Paris Hilton. If I ever get so rich, I’m paying an “artist” to cut expensive clothes off of me, just shoot me.

Tattoo is infiltrating mainstream in leaps and bounds and has become a big factor in clothing – tattoo designs and subject matter is showing up at Walmarts and other big store chains. This pair of shoes which not only has the popular skul design has gone one step further (hahahaha) – and also is decorated with a tattoo machine.

These cute boxers are called Snakebite Tattoo Boxers and are available at Yellowman Tattoo Clothing. I just added this store to my site – Best Tattoo Sites and you can read more about them there. They promote their unique designs – the designs are from tattoo artists – but the fabric they use is supposed to be perfect for sports – they call it moisture – wicking tattoo skin. They have womens and mens clothing as well as under clothing such as these boxers. Very nice choices.<
