Found a new goth doll blog site – NewAged Dolls. I actually feel this doll maker may have gone a little past goth and into a Stephen King novel. The kicker was it was a commissioned order filled by this talented Canadian artist, Jade Perez, which is adorned with a tattoo on it’s chest as well as a tattoo gun clutched in it’s little doll hand. Jade says “I love horror, blood and scary things.”… The doll was a gift to the buyer’s tattoo artist. She has the blog which is pretty attractive, well put together, and a way to see some of her work which includes some jewelry too – of course the designs are similar to the dolls. Looks like she recently held a contest to win a doll so there’s reason right there to check it out. Well it’s just going to be one of those weeks – found another talented dark doll artist by the name of Kamila Mlynarczyk. Each doll is one of a kind and completely hand made. Her styles are Victorian and antique in style. The dolls are fascinating and so odd. Her sculptures range from mermaids and zombies to conjoined twins. It’s difficult to discern the size of some of her dolls. A lack of detailed description sometimes makes it impossible to tell. In some of the settings you see a human hand so you’re able to judge the size based on comparison and the dolls are surprisingly tiny. They are not for the weak hearted – some have bleeding stumps where limbs have been chopped off. More than just your average goth style dolls.

I’m excited – found a brand new goth doll artist that has a unique and wonderful VERY dark style. And the reasons for getting into the craft touched my heart. After rescuing a puppy born with several birth defects, macabre artist D. L. Marian, began making dolls to enable her to work at home with her pup by her side. She creates one of a kind gothic horror dolls and mannequins. Some of her doll categories include ghost dolls, vampire dolls and strange babies. Some of them are borderline disturbing but I guess you can just equate that to flattery to the artist. She even has a payment plan option to make them easier to afford but her prices seem extremely reasonable to start with. This may be an offer I cannot refuse.

The recent HUGE popularity surge of vampires and all aspects of their world has led to more of an interest in all things vampire. The Twilight popularity has led to a surge in the young teen age group. Kind of a young version of the Anne Rice vampire series. Books, movies, and TV shows – love that True Blood – and we now have clothing and jewelry. They were recently mentioned in a big tattoo magazine – Rebel Ink– and yes, they even have blood vial jewelry. They carry everything you need from head to toe – the shoes, jewelry, fangs, handbags, vampire bite tattoos, and even a cute tee for your little dog.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween festivities. Happy the day after Halloween. Time to dive into the left over candy. SO, speaking of Halloween I did some searching around for some good Witch related tattoos. Less to be found than I had anticipated – but as often happens one type of search turns into a stumble onto a site that makes you even happier.This is a painting by an artist by the name of Scott Clayton a fantasy artist from Aurora, Illinois – and you can see all of his works by clicking here. The title of the piece is Hot Tattoo Witch – perfect, to the point, and the reason I stumbled on it.

Black Market Art has brought tattoo artists together with custom clothing for the past 5 years.Recently, they have expanded this concept by having artists paint coffin lids – not real lids but wooden cutouts in the shape of a coffin lid. The artists have free range in their choice of media – including watercolors, oils, and airbrush. At Gothic Pictures, you can find quality professional goth photos, gothic paintings, anime, and architecture. There is no explanation on the site as to who does the artwork or any way to contact the owner of the site. It’s possible all of the work is done by one person. I found a link to another site that seems to be an offshoot of this extensive goth site. It focuses strictly on goth dolls- that is at http://dolls.gothicarts.org/ – again, there is a lack of information that is frustrating. No explanation behind the artist or any information for purchasing.
