Most of you probably remember using scratchboard in high school. That’s where I was first exposed to this artform. Start out with a black piece of paper treated with ink and scratch the surface with special tools to expose the white space underneath. Kind of a negative approach. This is an example of the works of R. Berendt who sells his pieces via his webpage and his work subjects are wildlife but I saw a teddy bear thrown in the mix also. He sells original pieces and prints AND does web design.
